Happy holidays to all. I hope everyone had a safe and happy Christmas. In this Settino household the day certainly was subdued. I can’t help thinking what a difference from last year. My daughter Alyson loves Broadway and has wanted to go to a show for some time. Last year my wife and I decided to get her tickets for Beetlejuice. I purchased great tickets through Broadway.com, fourth row center. The tickets were for last March, about a week after New York shut down. We still haven’t been able to get to a show, being safe is more important.
Because two family members contracted COVID-19 this year after Thanksgiving. This year for Christmas we stayed home together. My wife and two daughters and me. We did the normal opening or presents. Instead of going to relatives houses we watched Wonder Woman 1984, which is a very good movie. Everything was lowkey, it is hard to completely celebrate when an elderly family member has been in the hospital for the last three weeks. Thankfully, she was just moved from the COVID-19 wing and into a regular room.
If there is a good thing about this horrible year it is, I’ve focused on the important things. The difference between wants and needs are clearer now. You know, those numbers you see on the television, the ones that show how many people are infected and how many have passed. When you know of people who have passed and people that are infected, they become personal.
Stay safe, sit down with a good book.
