This morning my daughter Alyson, who is a kindergarten teacher came to hang out at my house. I work from home in the family room while my wife Denise works from home it what used to be my Yankee room. This is a room that I painted on three sides Yankee grey and Yankee blue on the fourth. I found paint that matched the team’s colors. I also put fathead decals on the walls as well as plaques that I had bought over the years. It was supposed to be the room where I could watch the Yankees and my personal space. Enter Covid, now it is my wife’s office.
I digress, on Friday where my daughter teaches it is a virtual day. I must smile listening to her sing songs to the kids and reads stories and listening to the kids’ reactions. As a parent when Alyson wanted to be a teacher out of high school there were some that wanted me to talk her out of it because teaching jobs can be hard to find. Instead, I encouraged her because it is her passion. Hearing her joy teaching the kids this morning makes me feel like I did something right, a least once.
